Overview

The challenge of this design is to figure out a communication model to balance the virtual assistant, the Voca and the user in the same interface.

Testing content

We tested 4 design with both hearing-impaired testers & non-impaired testers. There are some alternations among the uses of user's, Voca's & VA's legends:

  • Direct communication design between VA & user

Cons:

  • Confusion of legends and speaking identities

  • No exposure of Voca identity

Voca & VA act as different agents

Cons:

  • Small differnece between VA & Voca

  • Voca is not the ultimate respondent, but appears on that side

Voca acts as a communication deputy

Cons:

  • User sents commands, but Voca's lengend shows up

Voca acts as neutral textbox, VA acts as the repondent
